McAbee Architects, Inc. is a full service
architectural practice located in Travelers
Rest, SC which is about 10 miles north of
Greenville, SC. David McAbee founded the company
in 1999 with a desire to provide practical,
client focused architectural design that is
functional, aesthetically pleasing and
affordable. A special emphasis is also placed on
producing drawings that actually work with
respect to the building codes and construction
details.
Typical services provided for our clients
include master planning, adaptation and reuse of
existing buildings and design for new buildings.
While the majority of our work is for churches,
we also do a significant amount of commercial
development.
Our highly qualified, hand-picked staff is
committed to providing the most affordable, well
designed buildings possible within the client’s
budget.

David McAbee
President
David started the company in early 1999 and
serves as the primary contact for most clients.
He provides quality control and overall project
management for the office. His common sense
approach to problem solving and architectural
design is frequently cited by clients as his
most important asset. He is also an ICC
certified plans examiner and provides
architectural plan review services for the City
of Travelers Rest, SC.
Melissa Guthrie
Vice President
Melissa has been at McAbee Architects since
2002. She is licensed in Georgia, North Carolina
and South Carolina. She provides our clients
with outstanding service and brings to the table
an unsurpassed attention to detail. She manages
the day to day progress of many office projects
and can usually be found working hard at her
desk to meet some project deadline.
Chris Neff
Architectural Designer and CAD Technician
Chris has been with McAbee Architects since 2000.
He is a CAD “master” and plays an important part
in just about every project that comes through
the office. He can put together a well
thought-out, coordinated drawing package that
leaves no stone unturned.
Tonya Kocourek
Office Administrator
Tonya has been with McAbee Architects since
2005. She makes the office run smoothly and
handles all the business concerns including
billing and accounts receivable.
